Briefly, what should you know?

A good website offer includes not only the total price; It clearly indicates deliverables, scope, acceptance criteria and post-publication responsibility.

Is it the right guide?

Who is this guide for?

  • Businesses planning to invest in new websites
  • Decision makers comparing agency offers
  • Teams that cannot receive requests from their current website
  • Brands that want to rebuild their SEO and content infrastructure
How did we prepare it?

We prepared this guide based on Codeexia's project experience, official sources and real questions that are repeated in bid negotiations. It states the variable fees and technical conditions with its sources; We do not present project estimates as a final offer.

Two website proposals may have the same title but contain completely different work. One covers strategy, content, SEO, and go-live, while the other may price only design and development. Therefore, compare the deliverable line by line before the total figure.

What information should be included on the first page of the proposal?

The purpose of the project, target user, primary conversion, scope of delivery, assumptions, duration and total cost should be understood at first glance. The sentence "A corporate website will be built" is not a scope. Page types, number of languages, content responsibility and integrations should be written clearly.

How should the design and content scope be defined?

  • Original design or ready-made theme adaptation?
  • How many different page templates will be prepared?
  • Who does the copy writing, image selection and data entry?
  • How many rounds of revisions do mobile and desktop approvals involve?

Instead of “unlimited revisions,” approval points and the change process should be in writing.

What to look for in SEO and technical delivery?

Title and description fields, clean URL structure, redirects, sitemap, robots.txt, structured data, performance measurement and analytics setup should be separate items. If SEO is promised but it is not written what technical delivery will be made, the offer cannot be compared.

License, source code and account ownership

It should be stated whose account the domain name, hosting, plug-ins and third-party services will be on. Source code access, design files, administrator accounts and transfer conditions must be added to the delivery list. View annual renewal fees separately from the first year price.

Testing, release and maintenance items

Browser and device tests, form checks, speed measurement, backup, go-live and error correction periods must be written down. If there is a maintenance package, monthly hours, out-of-scope works and intervention period should be defined.

Offer comparison table

PenQuestion to ask in the offer
ScopeWhat pages and functions will be delivered?
ContentsWho will enter text, images and data?
SEOWhat are the concrete technical deliverables?
OwnershipTo whom will the codes and accounts be transferred?
CareWhich incident will be handled and how soon?

red flags

Single-line coverage, a quote based solely on screenshots, vague licenses, not writing down source code, and leaving maintenance as “support as needed” are signs of risk. Send the same brief to at least three companies and evaluate the responses with the same table.
